OTV 肩部和侧肋防护系统（DAPS）

09/21/18 Friday admin 现代战争, OTV 防弹背心在中东战场上表现出了很多问题，最致命的就是它缺乏肩部防护，而且前后片的结合部有防护漏洞。而反美武装也很清楚这一点，狙击手专门瞄准这些防护弱点射击，造成很多士兵伤亡。因此从2004年开始，陆军和陆战队各自为 OTV 研发了防护增强组件，包括肩部防护组件、肋部防护组件以及侧面防弹插板组件。陆军的版本叫 Deltoid Axillary Protection System（三角肌和侧肋防护系统，DAPS）；而陆战队的版本则被称为 Armor Protective Enhancement System（护甲防护增强系统，APES）。为旧型防弹衣补充“补丁”的做法直到2007年，陆战队和陆军分别配发了 MTV 和 IOTV 防弹背心才结束。

这套增强防护组件还可以和侧面防弹板组件组合使用。
